“Vanessa’s Law” targets underage drinking and driving as the Minnesota law makes it a misdemeanor for anyone under the age of 21 to have anything to drink and then drive, operate or physically control a motor vehicle. If the underage driver is below a .08% alcohol level the revocation of their license will be for 30 days. If the underage driver has a prior underage drinking and driving offense, the revocation period is 180 days. If the underage driver tests at or above .08% then the revocation periods are governed by the Minnesota DWI revocation statutes.
